eBay approached us with the need to rapidly create a fight site to stop Carl Icahn from trying to split up eBay and PayPal. The sites purpose was to communicate to the media and eBay inc. shareholders that eBay and PayPal were “Better Together”, this was to be done through a blog like site.
The original idea for the site was to have panels that linked through to full blog entries. Blog entries would be grouped into categories (viewpoint, press release, feature, news… etc). The second idea was for the site to house all of the blog entries on the homepage and they would all be in a click and reveal. Both ideas relied on content be lazy loaded.
The site was designed in 3 days and built in less than 2 weeks. Shortly after the delivery of the project eBay decided to take visual and structural control of the site for themselves and in August 2014 they decided to take the website offline.
